Alexander

Alexander was two years old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. His tumour is called ETMR (previously known as ETANTR). He was the 36th documented case in the world to have this type of tumour. Alexander battled for 10 months (surgery, chemo, stem cell transplant, intrathecal chemo, radiation), but nothing slowed it down. He passed away on October 23, 2010.

We took Alexander to Hawaii for his wish trip in September 2010. After he passed, we took his ashes back to Hawaii and put them in the ocean on his third birthday (November 13). Right before we put his ashes in the ocean a baby turtle came to the surface.

Alexander is a brave and beautiful warrior who battled brain cancer without a care in the world. He went through so much in his short life, but he never cried, never complained. Even near the end when he couldn't walk or see properly, all he wanted to do was play.

Alexander is our only child, he was brought here to give us a purpose and to help find a cure for ETMR. We donated Alexander's brain and tumour after he passed. He now has the one and only ETMR cell line in the world! This means they finally have something they can do research on.

Alexander can’t travel the world, but instead his cell line is. His cells have gone to Toronto, USA, London, Ireland, Spain, Germany and Switzerland. We couldn't be prouder.
